Product Description
The forgotten grape of Rioja creates rich wines bursting with red fruit and wild herbs.
The Mazuelo variety has been grown in La Rioja for several hundred years but today makes up just 3% of the vineyard area, a rare gem. It is also known as CarigΓ±ena in other regions in Spain, and Carignan Noir in the rest of the world, given its French origin. Rioja’s Mazuelo produces wines with great structure, freshness and deep colour, creating wines that can age for a long time. With uplifting flavours of black and red fruits and a touch of spice, this red is a delight with Manchego cheese, ‘Escalivada’ smoky grilled vegetables or the typical local dish of spiced pork roast with potatoes.
